People sat down and chatted with Bob Saget about his grown-up television daughters–and how he feels about their current boyfriends! Thankfully, Bob didn’t have a problem with either Mary-Kate’s main man Nate Lowman or Ashley’s squeeze Justin Bartha.

“I approve of anyone that makes my friends happy, and they’re my friends,” Bob told the magazine. “I am protective of the people I love.”

I think the fact that People even asked is weird. Sure, Bob and the girls have a close relationship, but he was never a true parental figure. But it’s nice he approves of their boyfriends and wishes them only happiness.

Mary-Kate Olsen was seen walking around New York City in some very interesting footwear yesterday. She had lunch with boyfriend Nate Lowman, but the two left the West Village restaurant spearately. Nate took off on his bicycle while MK lit a cigarette and walked home.

I’m not liking the giant black shirt and drop crotch pants Mary-Kate has on. I think they’d work separately, but together they just look messy. I love the shoes though! How does she even walk in them?

Don’t worry! Both Ashley’s relationship with actor Justin Bartha and Mary-Kate’s relationship with artist Nate Lowman are going strong. Ashley and Justin have been spotted on both coasts and in Las Vegas enjoying each other’s company, and MK and Nate are currently hitting the Fashion week circuit in Europe.

However, Star is reporting that MK and Ash have a small boy problem on their hand–Nate and Justin can’t stand each other!

Justin thinks Nate is a flake, while Nate thinks Justin is stuck-up. MK and Ashley brought the boys together last month on a couple double dates and they apparently butted heads all night, arguing about everything.

“All their discussions end up in arguments,” Star’s source claims. “Justin and Nate just don’t see eye-to-eye on anything.”

While I don’t take anything Star says seriously, I can see strong personality differences between Justin and Nate. That doesn’t mean they hate each other though!

David Katzenberg, who Mary-Kate Olsen dated in 2003/04, is rumored to have gotten engaged to girlfriend Nicky Hilton and the two are planning a winter wedding!

“They are thinking about a December or January wedding,” a source told Star magazine. “They want it to take place after the Christian and Jewish holidays.”

This rumor has yet to be confirmed, but if it’s true. I’m happy for the couple! They’ve been together for over two years and David and MK are currently on good terms. I’m sure she’ll send them good wishes!

While Mary-Kate Olsen is hanging out in LA–she was spotted at the Chateau Marmont on September 20 and the Villa Lounge later that same evening–sister Ashley Olsen was spotted dancing the night away in Vegas with boyfriend Justin Bartha.

Ashley and Justin were seen having a romantic dinner at Stack. According to E Online, the pair dined on “shared yellowtail sashimi, spicy wings and black cod miso lettuce cups.”

After dinner, they headed over to popular nightclub Jet with several friends.

The couple wasn’t shy about their PDA. Quite a few onlookers spotted the pair on the dance floor and said they seemed to be having a good time!

It’s been a long time since both Ashley and MK have had happy, stable relationships. Both girls seem to be in good places personally right now!

According to the National Enquirer, Mary-Kate Olsen has all but forgotten about her NYC-based artist boyfriend Nate Lowman and is now focusing her romantic efforts on Apatowian funnyman and Superbad star Jonah Hill.

A source saw the twosome together at the Chateau Marmont, and says they were “totally enamored” with each other.

“It was a shock to see Mary-Kate together with, of all people, geeky Jonah,” their source claims. “They were on a double date with another couple, dining at the hotel around 10 p.m. Mary-Kate and Jonah sat close together and seemed totally into each other. They were both wearing plaid shirts that almost matched. It was the cutest thing.”

What bohers me about this is that Jonah and MK have known each other for years and years–they went to the same high school. So unless this source saw them making out, I seriously doubt it was more than just friends catching up and having a good time.

Ashley Olsen has been laying pretty low since her return from an extended romantic Greek getaway with boyfriend Justin Bartha. However, the NY Post’s Page Six spotted the pair at Serafina in New York earlier this week. The two were very lovey-dovey, according to their sources.

“She was all over him,” their source claims. “Another girlfriend of hers was also at the table. Ashley was very nice to everyone, but seemed more occupied with her boyfriend than anything else.”

Ashley dined on bloody martinis and spaghetti. I’m glad to see that Ashley’s having fun and enjoying herself!

In Touch Weekly is reporting that Ashley Olsen has been out of sight for the past few weeks because she and boyfriend Justin Bartha have been on a romantic Greek getaway.

The vacation was a spur-of-the-moment idea, their source claims. “It was a sudden plan to go to Mykonos and to explore Greece for a bit,” they said.

Their source also said that the relationship is going really well and that Ashley has been the happiest that she’s been in months with Justin.

“Ashley is so in love and really happy with Justin, even though it’s only been six months,” their source said. “She has been telling her family how much she loves this guy and how sweet he is.”

I’m glad Ashley is having fun and enjoying herself. She deserves it. However, MSNBC is reporting that pals are worried that Justin isn’t serious about Ashley, and is using her to rebound from his relationship with Lydia Hearst.

“He was (totally) crushed after Lydia Hearst broke up with him last summer,” MSNBC’s source says. “Let’s hope he’s over her and not just using Ashley to retrieve his mojo.”

I hope, for Ashley’s sake, that isn’t true and the relationship means more to Justin than a rebound fling.

The paparazzi over at X17 Online were on hand to see Mary-Kate Olsen leaving the Los Angeles Lakers game yesterday with her pal Hayden. A lot of gossip sites are reporting Hayden is MK’s new man, but he’s been a pal of MK and Ashley’s since their days at NYU.

You can see the photos here. They are walking arm-in-arm though. But it looks more like “don’t lose me in the paparazzi” and less “we’re dating.”

Earlier today, E! Online was reporting that a Travis London secretly traveled with Mary-Kate Olsen to Hong Kong. She’s been dating him on and off since early 2006, they claim.

“They’ve been doing their best to kept the relationship private,” says E!’s source, “often arriving separate in public and choosing not to be photographed together at events.”

However, MK’s rep was quick to squash these rumors. Later today, MK’s publicist denied this claim.

“This is not true. Mary-Kate doesn’t know a Travis London,” she said. “He didn’t travel with us to Hong Kong (I traveled with Mary-Kate) and there is no truth to this item.”

Normally, Mary-Kate and Ashley’s publicist never comments on their personal life. Either this was a blatant lie on E!’s part or it hit a nerve. What do you think?
