The DVD will feature deleted scenes, two mini-documentaries- “Keeping it Real” which looks at a day in the life of writer/director Jonathan Levine, and “Time in a Bottle” which looks at the behind the scenes happening on the set of The Wackness, the first episode of “The Luke Shapiro Show” and commentary from Jonathan Levine and star Josh Peck.

The DVD is currently available to pre-order for $21.99 from Amazon.

Mary-Kate Olsen looked gorgeous at the NYC premiere of The Wackness last night. The dress, the belt, the hair, the clutch, I love it all.

The Wackness will premiere nationwide on July 3. MK will be on David Letterman tonight to promote the movie, so be sure to tune in!

Here is the third trailer for Mary-Kate Olsen’s new movie The Wackness. This trailer focuses on the relationship between Luke, played by Josh Peck, and Stephanie, played by Olivia Thrilby. Mary-Kate isn’t in the trailer at all.

The Wackness and Mary-Kate Olsen

According to the Wall Street Journal, Mary-Kate Olsen auditioned for the lead female role, Stephanie. Stephanie is Luke’s love interest in the film. Ultimately, that role was given to Olivia Thirlby.

Olivia is a great actress. She’s also starred in Juno with Ellen Page and United 93. I’m excited to see what she’ll do with The Wackness.

As we all know, it ended well for MK. She was cast as drug user and hippie Union.

The Wackness will be in theatres on July 3.

Olivia Thirlby Talks about Mary-Kate Olsen

February 15, 2008 by Erin Balser

olivia thirlbyOlivia Thirlby, Mary-Kate Olsen’s co-star in The Wackness, has been doing a lot of press recently. She has tons of movies out (including Juno).

In an interview with Pipe Dream, she was asked about MK and Heath Ledger.

Here’s what she had to say:

It’s sad. I don’t know, I haven’t talked to her about it. I don’t think she’s connected at all. I think it’s just that the tabloids f**king love her. All of the Heath stuff was created by the tabloids, which are evil, and you should print this: Everything the tabloids say are lies. It seems to be something that the general public can’t grasp. Literally, all that sh*t is completely made up. As somebody who has honestly never been in [the tabloid gossip], but as somebody whose friends have occasionally been victimized, the sh*t that they write is just so hilarious. It’s just so ridiculous! And it’s really hard to see Heath Ledgers’ death be made into this big who-dun-it, because somebody died and this person was poised for true greatness in this world and it’s so sad that he’s not going to be able to contribute anymore. Let’s just leave it at that.

Olivia is a bright young star and it seems like she’s very aware of the Hollywood scene. I wish her the best!
