PETA Dubs Mary-Kate & Ashley “The Trollsens”
PETA is very mad at Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen because they continue to wear fur, despite the organizations pleas.
“Mary-Kate and Ashley have ignored pleas to stop wearing fur and are still using it in their fashion collection,” PETA states.The group has decided to do something about it. They are launching a campaign today, using their models “Hairy Kate” and “Trashley” to demonstrate the unethical treatment of animals.
According to the PETA press release, the campaign
features a “Fatal Fashion” animated dress-up game complete with animal skins and the accompanying blood; a mash-up video called “Full House of Horrors,” in which footage from the twins’ former TV show Full House is interspersed with scenes in which animals are killed for fur; and information about actions visitors can take to get through to the ethically challenged 21-year-olds, whose hearts are apparently as nutrition-starved as the rest of their bodies. Visitors to the site can also pick up free Web banners showing the Trollsen sisters draped in animal skins–and blood.

PETA is right… They wear too much fur. I think they would show more respect for the animals. Why if I would take little Luka and wear him? I don’t think MK would feel OK with that! I hate when anyone wear fur. I’m a real animal lover so I’m really upset about that. But it’s ok to wear fake-fur though, lol!

Millions of girls look up to the Olsens and they have influence so they should act as role models, everyone knows in what cruel way the animals get killed for their fur so of course it’s wrong of them to wear it. There will always be stupid people who will keep on flaunting their expensive fur coats but these girls could make a difference, since they’re in the public eye.

ok, i’ll be damned for this, but here’s what i think:
- i wear fur. i didn’t and i thought it was horrible until i actually tried it. this sounds awful and i am aware of that. i wear vintage but i don’t think that makes any difference, because if everyone goes for that excuse, then 20 yrs from now, ppl will still say ”well, it’s vintage”.
- that being said, and knowing fur industry will never stop, i’d suggest governments to create laws to guarantee that, the least, the animals are treated with maximum respect and not tortured and skinned alive.
p.s._ still, who is that little luka?

When the girls wear fur is it real or is it fake? If they wear fake fur, then I think that there is nothing to hold against them. If they wear real fur, they could have a reason. Have the girls ever said anything about this issue at all any?

i’m not really into these organizations like peta or whatnot. but i know that it’s wrong to kill animals just to make a jacket or shoes or a purse. like i’ll probably wear leather because i eat beef anyway. but i won’t wear rabbit fur or croc skin..because what happened to the animals after someone made my jacket or my shoes or my purse? maybe if they wore fur once and never did it again, i wouldn’t feel so upset. but they continually do it. i don’t know. we know they’re rich. they can prove it some other way…

well, what can I say? I’m alright with leathers and eating meats and wearing fur as long as they are not frm endangered animals. Nevertheless, PETA’s still got a point, maybe celebrities who wear fur may actually promoting fur wears to the world of fashion, and that may bring unexpected cases of animals abuse in the future. But, I’m not totally agreeing every idea the PETA has to offer. Like boycotting chocolate company for using animals products and even doing a cmapaign on ” animals are not OURS to eat”. and THAT’S wat i call” wat the hell?”.

I AM TOTALLY okay with fur wears and of couse, leathers. They are not from those endangered animals, arent they? YES, i know any one of you guys reading this might want to get your hands around my neck. Lol. I don’t really like PETA actually.
Too extreme ideas they have on their mind. banning animals consumption (HA! over dead bodies of billions people). TOO IDEAL!! many are still living in poverty and poor education.
My stand is that, there should be a limit on animal products. Like what kind of furs and leathers used for fashion. (Wool, chicken feathers… and watever).
And cases like those in southeast asia, like the selling of endangered species. oo, Im hating that one. But when it comes to fried chickens and their feathers (they can be used for cleaning)…. Thats what I need for living.

i mean the animals usually are not killed specifically for it, like the leather on everyones boots, that cow was probably someones lunch. campaigning against fur is like campaigning against anyone who is not vegetarian, or anyone who wears leather boots.

I agree that they shouldn’t wear fur; maybe it’s just me but dead animals just aren’t that attractive wrapped around lively young celebrities. Or anyone, for that matter.
On the other hand, Peta is kicking itself in the ass by lodging such an immature campaign against them….they’ll get more press for how stupid the campaign is rather than the media they really need for the actual root issue of fur!

Yes, the human have been wearing fur for thousand years but think about why. Now we use it because it looks ‘hot’ (i don’t think so). Because it’s fashion. Because everybody else wears it. But do you think the Neanderthal people which existed on earth for thousand, of thousand of years weared fur because they thought it looked hot? They weared fur because they had nothing else to wear. They are definitely wearing real fur, and it’s hideous! Anyone who can watch the immense cruelty that goes into raising and killing these poor animals for fur and think PETA needs to “get over it” is lacking a soul. There are raccoon dogs in China being skinned alive so the Olsens can walk around thinking they look hot in fugly furs. It is awful. Watch the video! We need to tell them this isn’t the middle ages and there are alternatives to fur now that doesn’t involve torturing innocent animals. Surely they’d listen to their fans.

I think PETA should leave the girls alone! Offending them by calling them “Hairy Kate” and “Trashley” is not going to persuade them to stop wearing fur. Who cares if someone wears fur? People have been wearing animal skins and furs since the beginning of time. If PETA’s SO concerned with animal cruelty maybe they should focus on something more widespread, like the million dollar meat industry! Seriously, wearing fur is natural and it’s not a big deal.

The only statement fur makes is “I’m a big ignorant selfish rich jerk!” Anytime I see someone wearing fur I imagine that they probably treat people pretty badly if they can support such a cruel industry. There is no reason to wear fur at all anymore. I think if they really knew how horrible it is for the animals- having their legs caught in traps or being raised in horrible conditions and sometimes being skinned while they are still alive and breathing- they would stop wearing it. If they know all of the facts and still continue to wear it then that really says something about their character. BTW if you own fur and don’t want to wear it anymore you can donate it to helping orphaned animals. This is the only good use for “vintage” fur. Wearing it only promotes the cruelty.

well when i saw this article yesterday i went by the link to the peta’s site and was browsing it for 2 hours i think. have you seen the videos there? of human cruelty? for everyone who said like “live them alone, let them wear what they want” just go to the damned site and do see the vids!!! i was crying… and i couldnt stop crying cuz all these facts just shocked me. well hell yeah, i have fur not vintage, i have leather handbags, i do eat meat (although it puts me off recently after reading “skinny bitch” and now watching peta’s vids!), we cant stop it. but we can reduce it. and although i simply adore the twins i do think they have to care about such things cuz they r role models.

Most fur is farmed now, and supports a lot if hard working farmers. The animal is not just skinned and thrown away mostly every bit is used. people will always eat meat so why not wear the skin? PETA are a bunch of loons that want to set loose all the house hold pets in the world, they support terrorists and want to stop medical testing that save lives. Not to mention they kill a whole lot of “rescued” animals every year. Regardless of if wearing fur is wrong PETA is wrong.

i don’t understand how can they put so much effort on animals while there are so many human beings out there needing help.
also, they overreact - they are also against blind (or anything else that requires the help of a dog) people having a dog, and pets and whatsoever, because it’s ‘’slavery”. this is so stupid. i believe my dog was pretty damn happy while he lived with my family.
also, i know (personally) a lot of ”i would never wear animal skin” people. than i ask them ”and what exactly do you think your boots are made of?” and they shut up.

ummmm…okay well heres my opinion on the fur thing, peta is being totaly immature by making ugly ads of mk and a, it just makes people angry and after humiliating them do they really think there gonna listen? if anything it’s just going to make them say f*ck you and maybe perhaps wear even more fur! but i am very against wearing fur, why? well to me wearing the fur of an animal is basically saying “look how cool i am wearing a dead fox across my shoulders!” and the whole “oh you wear leather!” ordeal is stupid, wearing leather is a totally different wave length. first of all alot of people wear pleather, seriously most stores in your average mall like delia’s only have fake fur and pleather products. and unlike fur, leather is just less offensive looking, it’s just shiny fabric to the eye, but to the human eye when we see fur we obviously atomatically start guessing “is that a dead animal skin?” plus cow leather in my opinion isn’t as bad because we use the whole damn cow!! the only fur we MIGHT use the whole animal of is rabbit, and most fur coats are mink or fox, not rabbit. im pretty positive no one eats mink or fox, so basically it is infact just a cruel fashion statement. i think the real problem is not killing animals but how we kill animals, skinning animals while their conscious is totaly screwed up, and anyone with a soul will agree. if we all buy free range meat, it would deffinitly help animals out, plus everyone can save a ton of animals by simply eating less meat! hello why do you think there’s an obesity epedemic?!? i do feel it is pretty pointless to argue about trying to make everyone a vegan or vegetarian, simply because it will NEVER happen ever. in small doses meat and fish are very good for us, (note how i say small doses) and it’s simply the circle of life we eat animals and animals eat animals. and duh we are animals. and by the way it is extremely ignorant for anyone to compare this to abortion, i hate to even get on a subject like abortion because its such a touchy subject, but we don’t torture fetus’s! and hello what do you think chicken eggs are, people who eat eggs but are against abortions are f*cken hypocrites. i feel that animals have just as much of a right to live as people, just because we have our name in a phone book and wear clothes doesn’t mean we have anymore of a right to stay alive. thats a arrogant way of thinking, animals lived on this planet loooong before we did. i cant believe someone said why are we worrying animals dying when there are people dying, well shame on you for saying something so stupid!!

I think many people are not getting the point here. If there are people who keep bying real fur than there will always be people killing animals or getting their fur while there are still alive. If there are no byers than people wont kill anymore!!!!!!!

i have my personal opinion on fur-wearing and i don’t believe people should threaten each other to convert to another side…but i’m just sitting here laughing in irony. does any of you realize people are more sensitive about animal cruelty matters than human rights violation? i check up on world matters daily and i’ve never seen any organization defending human victims of abuse and wars as stubborn as PETA defends animal rights and i’m not saying animals don’t have rights…i just find it ridiculous how some people would spend time and effort to stop animal abuse but not human abuse.

Again I think PETA has to take everything to the top because if they did go half ass on one issue about animal rights then they wouldn’t be for the ethical treatment of animals. So of course they’re going to go to the nine with this. You know what, I support PETA and every person out there that is trying to make a change no matter what it is. I really don’t think that cussing at people is going to do anything though.

In this situation, I am on both sides because both sides do have rights. Yeah, maybe people shouldn’t be wearing animal fur, but what about those who are not vegatarians and those who like to hunt? Why isn’t the PETA group jumping on them kind of people as well?
I don’t think that animals should be killed just so that people can wear the fur from them, but should they die anyways because of another reason whatever it may be, I can understand why some people wouldn’t want their fur to go to waste. To me, that is when wearing their fur would be okay should people want to wear it.

^^^ I do, but I have also learned that people are animals too. We are just the only kind who know that we will not be around forever. In this situation, I am on both sides because both sides do have rights. Yeah, maybe people shouldn’t be wearing animal fur, but what about those who are not vegatarians and those who like to hunt? Why isn’t the PETA group jumping on them kind of people as well?

Fur to go to waste?? It wouldn’t be going to waste if they weren’t using it!
I mean 100 chinchillas just to make one coat? Animals have pain receptors too. And most of the time when they remove the fur its not done in a human way. I mean come on would you like to have your skind ripped off while you were still alive….its no different.
Again more than half of our human race has not evolved…as I can tell from comments made before.
Oh and PETA does jump on other people MK &ashley just happen to be their target for this month, they just want them to stop selling fur. I’m sure if little girls knew how the animals were being treated for their fur they wouldn’t buy their clothing line.
Last year they were on Jennifer Lopez and Halley Berry for wearing fox fur, so they do go after everyone in the public eye. Which made me lose all respect for them. I will not watch another movie or buy a cd with any of them on it, that would just mean I support what they do.
Holly I think your contradicting yourself though. If you support them then you support the slaughter of innocent animals, which is not what the bible represents.

^^^ The people who need to be torn into are those who do the actual bad deeds. Mary-Kate and Ashley, etc are just the buyers. The PETA group need to go after those who do the actual killing, the stripping of the fur, and making the products containing the real animal fur that people buy. If these things were not made anymore, Mary-Kate and Ashley etc. would have no choice but to buy other things.

Are you serious?! Ok if people continue to keep buying “fur” then the producers are going to continue selling…supply and demand. So if mary kate and ashley stop buying the fur and everyone else, the “producers” would have to stop selling it because nobody would be in the market for it.

Yeah if they were ordered to stop making the products then there would be no sales. That is what they’ve been trying to do. I just don’t understand how you can support 2 strangers…with money that you’ve never met and they are for the slaughtering of innocent animals. Come on! Were in the 21st century we have freaking hydrogen cars and to go along with that we have faux fur.
Obviously a lot of people need to evolve and I know I keep saying that but it’s true. I guess certain people can’t be on the same IQ level as some of us that have evolved with the 21st century.

i think i get what holly means here, that if PETA wants to make someone’s life harder, it should be the lives of those who design and manufacture fur fashion rather than the wearers…am i right?
i should be able to make a point here that mk&ashley are considered manufacturers now they have the row line…i’m not familiar with their line though, so i can’t really say if they’re manufacturers or just buyers…
the difference of vintage coats and today’s fur coats are that during the old days (when demands for furs hadn’t been as high as now) they do make use of dead animals (from life cycle, not by human hands), but these days because of technology and everything else people found a way to make more fur faster.
i still do not support PETA…i don’t support anything extreme, actually, because you cannot survive without balance, but i do think killing endangered species for SPECIFICALLY human pleasure (fur fashion, exotic pet trade, etc) shouldn’t be supported.
the reason why i do not support PETA? it’s strictly because i support natural LIFECYCLE more than a bunch of politically-infused people having more than enough money to make 1,000 animal shelters in america but are happier to euthanised adoptable animals. you should really check this: http://www.petakillsanimals.com and while you’re at it, http://www.animalscam.com and http://www.consumerfreedom.com

^^^ I don’t know if the girls use real animal fur in the clothes that they design and make, but who ever makes the fur available for people to use in such a way at all any should be the ones who are gotten after because they are the reasons why this whole matter exists.

I really don’t like the Olsen girls at all, that said, I eat meat so why not use the whole animal for what it is worth? Again I REALLY dislike the Olsen trolls!!!

I totally agree with PETA as well. No one has the right to wear an animal that has not done anything wrong. The trollsons should be ashamed of thereselves!
