Mary-Kate Olsen’s Amex Mishap

Jezebel posted this cute story about Mary-Kate Olsen from this week’s issue ok OK!. It’s the issue with Robert Pattinson on the cover, making out with Lost star Emilie de Ravin (for the record, for his new movie Remember Me and OK! is being ridiculous).
Apparently, Mary-Kate was at a dive bar in New York City and when she tried to pay her tab, she only had her black Amex card! ” “I don’t know what to tell you, this is all I have,” she sheepishly told the bartender.
Even though it’s a tabloid so we need to take this story with a grain of salt, I can completely see this happening. It’s happened to me before – out having a good time and realizing you don’t have enough cash on you to cover your bill. Swoosh, out comes the plastic!
The black Amex card is part of American urban legends. It apparently has a $5000 initiation fee and a minimum spending requirement of $250,000 a year. It’s not surprising MK and Ashley have one, I’ve heard about them using it before. I hope the bartender took it or one of her friends covered the bill!
