Elizabeth & James Launch at Saks Fifth Avenue

April 27, 2008 by Erin Balser

This weekend, Saks Fifth Avenue had the official launch for Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s contemporary sportswear line Elizabeth & James. Apparently the girls were there to introduce the line in person, but the entire event was kept very hush-hush.

According to Lust List, MK and Ash seemed very nice and normal at the event.

Saks Online has tons of new pieces from the collection, so be sure to check it out!

I love the strapless tulip dress and the kitten mini. What about you?

I don’t understand why a ‘launch’ would be kept hush hush - why would they not want people to know the row is at SAKs?

  2. jj says:

    I mean E & J was at saks?

  3. Erin says:

    jj,

it was probably just invite-only and they just wanted people who were there for the fashion and not as fans as mk and ash. i think it’s weird i didnt hear about it until yesterday, but i can kinda see why.

or maybe the press surrounding it was just realy bad.

a friend of my cousin’s works at saks and got to attend this “event”. it wasn’t a launch party, but in-store training for the employees. i guess so they’re knowledgable about the product when customers ask. i think it’s really cool ash and mk are so hands on with their lines to attend something like this.

my friend works at saks. this was for employees only. they introduced the collection to the people selling the line. so they understand what mk and a’s inspiration is. where it is made. my friend said the line is GREAT

thanks for the info stacy! i didnt realize it was staff-only. makes much more sense now :-)

I love the parachute dress. With a skinny white belt? Too bad I don’t have infinite money.
