Full House Movie in the Works?
June 5, 2009 by Erin Balser
John Stamos is working on an idea for a feature film version of Full House. The film wouldn’t be a reunion of the main cast and characters, however, it would take place during the first few years of the show and feature an all new cast.
“I’m working on a movie idea, but it wouldn’t be us playing us,” he told us. “I’m not 100% sure, but it would probably take place in the first few years” he told the New York Daily News. John has also been throwing out ideas for his dream cast - James Franco as Uncle Jesse, Steve Carell at Danny Tanner and Tracy Morgan as Joey Gladstone.
I do like the idea of a Full House movie, I simply can’t see it happening, nor do I see any of those actors participating. It’s possible John is working on something completely original that uses the same premise -a single dad of three girls asks his best friend and brother-in-law to move in and help - as a jumping point. But if this is the case, wouldn’t it a be a fresher movie if the association to Full House was downplayed or not mentioned at all?

Full House Remake Dead
December 12, 2008 by Erin Balser
John Stamos is no longer working on a remake of Full House, E! Online reports. Without the participation of Mary-Kate or Ashley Olsen, Stamos couldn’t generate enough interest to get the deal off the ground.

“We couldn’t make the deal,” a source, who was working on the project, told E!. “It’s completely dead right now.”
In all honesty, I’m not that disappointed. It would have been really fun to watch, but how could the project been brought together cohesively?
Bob Saget is busy doing comedy and narrating How I Met Your Mother, Lori Loughlin is working on 90210, and the Olsens had no interest in participating; they’re becoming legitimate superstars in the fashion world and MK is gaining credibility in the acting one. I think participating in this remake would have negatively affected both these parts of their career.
John Stamos Planning Full House Remake?
December 4, 2008 by Erin Balser
Rumors are flying that John Stamos, who played the Tanners’ rock and roll Unlce Jesse, is planning a Full House remake. The new show would focus on oldest sisters DJ and Stephanie as young women and their new trials and tribulations.

“John has been working on a semi-remake of Full House. I know it would involve me and Jodie Sweetin,” Candace Cameron tells OK Magazine. “We would revive our characters, but today as young women.”
This is still very much in the rumor stages and there isn’t any concrete map of which former Full House characters or which original actors would be involved. I seriously doubt Mary-Kate or Ashley would get involved any more than a guest appearance. Maybe MK will be a regular guest star as Michelle? Or perhaps they’ll hire someone new entirely for the role? Or maybe Michelle won’t be a part of the show at all?
No one even knows if this show will get picked up, let alone make it on the airwaves. But it’s fun to dream!
Candace Cameron Not in Touch with Olsens
November 28, 2008 by Erin Balser
Candace Cameron who played oldest sister DJ on Full House admitted to the Miami Herald yesterday that she and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen aren’t really in touch anymore.
”They’re the only ones I lost touch with,” she says.
Candace merely chalks that up to the fact the girls are busy and that she and MK and Ashley are at very different stages in their life. With three small children running around, I’m sure she and the girls wouldn’t have that much to talk about. Despite this, Candace remains optimistic that they’ll reconnect in the future, when it makes sense for them to do so.
“They’re just not that child-friendly right now. We’ll wait a little while,” she sad.
In the interview, she also says her kids all watch Full House. So cute! To read the full article, click here.
Jodie Sweetin Separates from Husband
November 21, 2008 by Erin Balser
Jodie Sweetin, who played Stephanie on
This separation announcement comes a a shock, because Jodie constantly praised Corey for all his love and support while she was recovering from her meth addiction. Their daughter is also so very young. I wonder if they just didn’t adjust to becoming parents.
There’s no word on whether a divorce will follow.
Jodie has been busy working on her memoirs chronicling her drug addiction and subsequent recovery. It’s due out in October 2009.
TV Dad Approves of Mary-Kate and Ashley’s Boyfriends
November 12, 2008 by Erin Balser
People sat down and chatted with Bob Saget about his grown-up television daughters–and how he feels about their current boyfriends! Thankfully, Bob didn’t have a problem with either Mary-Kate’s main man Nate Lowman or Ashley’s squeeze Justin Bartha.
“I approve of anyone that makes my friends happy, and they’re my friends,” Bob told the magazine. “I am protective of the people I love.”
I think the fact that People even asked is weird. Sure, Bob and the girls have a close relationship, but he was never a true parental figure. But it’s nice he approves of their boyfriends and wishes them only happiness.
Bob Saget Chats About Mary-Kate and Ashley
August 16, 2008 by Erin Balser
The Huffington Post recently interviewed Bob Saget about his upcoming roast on Comedy Central and about his relationship with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. It’s a really interesting interview–he’s sick about constantly being asked about MK and Ashley, he always valued their opinions and treated them as adults and he really wants to see John Stamos in the White House.
You can read the interview for yourself here. I think what he says about MK and Ashley on Full House speaks a lot about how and why MK and Ashley are the savvy business-people they are–and why they seem so much more grown-up and unfazed by fame than a lot of young Hollywood.
Did Bob Saget’s Roast Go too Far?
August 6, 2008 by Erin Balser
Earlier this week, Comedy Central aired Bob Saget’s “Roast” wherein a comedian is shaken up and “roasted” as much as possible. It’s often hosted by a celebrity or close friend and John Stamos was the host of Bob’s.
Since these roasts tend to get very, very dirty, it’s unsurprising that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were brought up quickly and brought up often during the show.
Bob knew things were going to get dirty and he’s often mentioned MK and Ashley in his comedy routines before. However, he told the NY Post that the roast–which airs August 18–will have to be “edited gingerly.”
“Anybody who talks about my TV kids - that upsets me the most,” Bob said. “I am very protective. I love them very, very much.”
John agreed that the comics crossed a few lines, but didn’t know how MK and Ashley would take it.
“I truthfully don’t know where their sense of humor lies these days,” he said. “I thought some of [the roast] was a little over the top.”
I’m sure that MK and Ashley understand the nature of comedy–and the nature of a “roast”–and as long as it’s edited respectfully, I’m sure it will be fine.
Will you watch the roast? Or are any jokes about Mary-Kate and Ashley when they were underage inappropriate subjects?
Jodie Sweetin in Talks for Reality Show
August 1, 2008 by Erin Balser
Jodie Sweetin, who costarred with Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen on Full House, and recently gave birth to baby Zoie, is currently on the prowl to star in her own reality television show.
“We’re going to start shooting in a couple months,” Jodie revealed to People recently. “We are in talks with a couple of networks right now. We have one picked out, but nothing is signed yet.”
Jodie said she and her husband are into the idea because they want to show the world the “other side of celebrity.”
“It was one of those things where we were like, ‘Wow. Let’s totally do it,’” she said. “I think it’s sort of a fun way to show the other side of celebrity and a sort of semi-normal life.”
I love Jodie and think she’s great, but I don’t qualify her level of celebrity as anything significant. It’s probably even lower on the scale than Denise Richards. I might watch it, but there would need to be a really strong hook in order to keep me watching.
Now a reality show about MK and Ashley’s life–that’s a show I’d watch!
Video: Jodie Sweetin’s a Mom!
June 6, 2008 by Erin Balser
Jodie Sweetin had her baby and to celebrate, she had a revealing and insightful interview on Good Morning America. (Thanks to Daytime Talk for finding this!). She really has come a long way and looks happy and has her life together. I wish Jodie only the best in life.
Her baby girl, Zoie Laurelmae Herpin, was born on April 12, 2008. She’s so cute in the brief moments she appears in the interview!
