Ashley Olsen at CFDA Awards
June 16, 2009 by Erin Balser
Ashley Olsen was the lone Olsen twin at last night’s CFDA Awards. While Ashley rocked the red carpet, MK was in Montreal filming Beastly. The glam event was held in New York City and celebrated the best in American fashion. Lots of celebrities were in attendance, including Blake Lively, Kirsten Dunst, Ashley Olsen, Lydia Hearst, Hilary Rhoda, Claire Danes, Rachel Zoe, Coco Rocha and Molly Sims.

Ashley looked superb in a surprising orange dress. The vintage-inspired gown is from Ashley’s own collection, the Row. It’s a bold choice for Ashley, but is very much reminiscent of the Row aesthetic. It has a similar dramatic back to the long white gown Ashley wore to the MET gala last month.

Rodarte, consisting of design duo Kate and Lauren Mulleavy, took home womenswear designer of the year. The sisters topped Narciso Rodriguez and Marc Jacobs for the honors. Scott Sternberg of Band of Outsiders won menswear designer of the year and Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton took home the international award.
Olsen favorite Proenza Schouler won accessory designer of the year and Alexander Wang took home the Swarovski award for womenswear.

The Row Spring/Summer 2009 Promotional Video
May 11, 2009 by Erin Balser
Here’s the official video for the Spring/Summer 2009 collection from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s high-end line, The Row. The video features Lauren Hutton, who starred in the collection’s look book, walking on the beach and talking about the strength and courage in women. It’s a simple and elegant video, very much like the collection itself.
The Row’s official website has also finally arrived! I’m really excited that MK and Ashley have decided to make this line more accessible. It was really kept under wraps for the first few seasons. There’s not much to the website right now, just the video and a list of stores. Hopefully it will become more as the line grows.
The Row is Having a Sale!
April 17, 2009 by Erin Balser
If you’ve ever wanted a piece of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s exclusive, high-end line, the Row, now is the time! On Saturday, April 25th, from 10am-7pm at the Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles, Mary-Kate and Ashley will be having a sale for the Row!
Parking is $10 and they will only take cash or credit card. The address is 7000 Hollywood Boulevard and the event will be in room 100.
I would love so much to go to this event and see what the Row has in store. MK and Ashley have kept this line very quiet and exclusive. I understand it’s a different clientele than their Elizabeth & James line, but it would still be great to see the girls’ creativity!
All the details can be found here.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Unveil Menswear Line
February 5, 2009 by Erin Balser
The arrival of the Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen menswear line, an expansion of their high-end hush-hush line The Row, is here! While everything is still very much in wraps, Elle UK got a sneak peek of the line and they admit that they are very impressed!
The line draws inspiration from what the top menswear designers are doing today and from the best-dressed men in history. The line is chic, classic and focuses on tailoring, which puts it in sync with the original womenswear collection from The Row. Elle UK expects fashion forward men and boys everywhere to be clamoring for a bit of this line.
See photos of the line here! what do you think? I can totally see more fashion-forward celebs like David Beckham wearing this line with ease!
I also wonder if we’ll see either Olsen boy, Justin Bartha or Nate Lowman, in the line!

Mary-Kate Olsen in Miami, Ashley Olsen in Boston
December 12, 2008 by Erin Balser
Mary-Kate Olsen and her boyfriend Nate Lowman attended the Assouline Book Launch in Miami on December 5. MK was wearing the felt hat reminiscent of the Musketeers that she seems so fond of in Miami.
While Mary-Kate was in Miami, taking in Art Basel, Ashley went to Boston for the Institute of Contemporary Art fundraiser on December 10. The event honored young American designers and Ashley was there to represent the Row. Ashley looked stunning in a grey velvet gown and told the audience she was honored to be there. Other designers who were honored included Brian Reyes, Chris Benz, Elise Overland, Jason Wu, Lyn Devon, Magda Berliner, Sari Gueron, Tuleh and Mario Cornejo.
Very few photos have emerged from this private event, but you can see a few here.
Lauren Hutton Named the Face of Mary-Kate & Ashley’s The Row
October 25, 2008 by Erin Balser
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have named retired supermodel, the gorgeous 64-year-old Lauren Hutton as the face of their high-end line The Row. Lauren has worked with MK and Ashley before, posing for the Row’s Spring 2008 look book and doing a photo shoot with Mary-Kate in Harper’s Bazaar.
“She’s just a wise woman and she’s a traveller and she’s obviously a style icon,” Mary-Kate told Contact Music. Ashley adds that she’s older, she’s beautiful and she’s sexy–making her perfect for their line.
There’s even speculation that Lauren will make a catwalk comeback for the Row! I think Lauren is gorgeous and this is an exciting collaboration for all involved.
More Mary-Kate and Ashley in London
October 8, 2008 by Erin Balser
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are working hard overseas! After a promotional trip to Paris for their fashion lines Elizabeth & James and The Row, the girls hopped over to London, where they held a launch for Elizabeth & James at Selfridges.
The guests included Alexa Chung, Henry Holland and Pixie Geldof and everyone dined on sushi and strawberry champange, according to Elle UK. (You can see a picture of that fivesome here.)
What do you think of MK’s over-the-knee boots? And Ashley’s bustier?
Fab Sugar has tons of photos from the launch, including pictures of the new collection!
However, the girls weren’t in London for very long. Earlier today, they were spotted catching a flight back to NYC with none other than Gwyneth Paltrow! I love Gwyn’s oversized scarf. All three ladies looked chic, casual and lovely as they strolled through Heathrow airport.
