A friend of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s, Carlos Lopez, put this great video together as a tribute to all their friends and how these friends made her life better. It’s loaded with personal shots of MK, Ashley and others doing normal things like karaoke and hanging out. There’s also glimpses of them doing awesome things too, like attending fashion shows. Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, Vanessa and Victoria Traina, Mischa Barton, and Lauren Conrad all make brief appearances in the video too.

The video begins with a letter, which reads:

Dear Friends,

We all come from different walks of life. With our own dreams and goals. Aspirations driven by passion and passion that aspires us to be driven. Finding myself wonderfully lost in my wanderlust. I came, I saw, I cheers’d, I danced and most importantly I laughed with good company. I give this tribute to you as a thank you. The life experiences I gained are ones that dreams are mad of. Now, I dream of new chapters to be written. This is where my story begins.

I think the video is really well done and it’s so much fun to get these little glimpses into Mary-Kate and Ashley’s personal life. This video is a nice tribute to the girls and their friends.

Mary-Kate Olsen made an appearance at the same red carpet event as Ashley last night - the premiere of The Hangover. The sisters walked the red carpet separately and both showed off their individual style and sunny smiles. Ashley’s boyfriend Justin Bartha stars in the film about a bachelor party gone wrong. Justin plays Doug, the grrom-to-be, who gets lost during the drunken escapades. The next morning, it becomes the groomsmen’s quest to find the lost man before his fiance finds out.

Mary-Kate looked great in a blazer, a TopShop dress, pink Lennon sunglasses and Prada heels. Her hair looks shiny and healthy and I love that both she and Ashley flashed big smiles for the camera. I hope they enjoyed the film!

MK has her own film project in the works now, the independent movie Meskada filming starts in New York in a few days. I’m really excited to see Mary-Kate back on the big screen. Hopefully we’ll hear of more 2009 projects soon!

Ashley Olsen looked crisp, clean and stunning at the premiere of The Hangover last night atHollywood’s Grauman’s Theatre. Ashley made the rare red carpet appearance to support her boyfriend, Justin Bartha, who stars in the film. Ashley didn’t want to steal Justin’s thunder though, so they walked the red carpet separately.

I don’t think anyone in Hollywood does minimalism as well as Ashley is right now. She pairs a simple Calvin Klein dress with snakeskin sandals and no accessories (except her glowing skin and a smile!) and looks fabulous. She’s also debuting the hair cut she got while she texted Marie Claire. I like the shorter ‘do. Do you?

The Hangover is about a bachelor party in Los Vegas gone horribly awry -so awry that the groomsmen lose the groom-to-be. Hilarty ensues. The Hangover has opened to very positive reviews and I’ll admit I’m excited to see it. Justin plays Doug, the missing groom, so who knows how much screen time he’ll get. Regardless, it should be fun. Justin was adorable in the National Treasure films.

Ashley Olsen has been busy lately. She has a spread in the latest issue of VMAN magazine and has been hard at work promoting the Elizabeth & James Fall 2009 collection and the upcoming menswear line for both Elizabeth & James and the Row. She did have time, though, to stop by Marie Claire and get her haircut. Thankfully, PopSugar was given a preview of the photos, which Ashley snapped on her cell phone!

It’s great to see Ashley out and about and showing off her personality. She hasn’t been much of a “celebrity” lately and has been doing her best to stay out of the limelight. The photos and accompanying article will be in the June 2009 issue of Marie Claire. I can’t wait!

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s younger sister, Lizzie, or Elizabeth Olsen, as she’s known in the press today, is beginning to make fashion waves of her own. Elle UK is calling her their new “fashion crush.”

“Not only does she have their cherubic cheeks and stunning blue eyes,” they write, she also “has the twins’ unique polished-boho style.”

Elle promises that Elizabeth will definitely be one to watch this year as she tries to makes name for herself in the New York theatre scene.

I think it’s a bit premature to be calling Elizabeth a style icon. She’s only stepped out publicly once this year, in an oversized beige Calvin Klein dressed that completely swallowed her. Yes, it was very reminiscent of something her sisters would wear and it showed a lot of fashion promise, but I want to see a few more looks before I decide it Lizzie is going to be the next “it” girl.

Jonathan Jaxson, the wannabe celebrity blogger and publicist, is now shopping a book around to various publishers, Gawker reports. Jonathan is perhaps best known for his trashy celeb blog JJ’s Dirt, where he constantly talked about all the “celebrities” he “knew” as they partied the night away, did drugs and had sex in not-so-private places.

Jonathan’s book, titled Don’t You Know Who I Am Yet???, looks back at his life and career, as he and his mother frequented the talk show circuit, he became the publicist for a few D-list celebs and as he tried to become the next Perez Hilton. What he’s really hoping will sell the book, though, is not his life story, but rather the bits of celeb dirt he spills throughout its pages.

JJ famously claims the first time he met Mary-Kate Olsen was a few years ago, before she entered the rehabiliation centre for health reasons. According to his book,

Bungalow 8 was the place I met Ms. Mary-Kate Olsen. I was extremely disappointed in finding out that the Mary-Kate I was meeting was cocained up and completely wasted on booze. It was sad really. Really sad

This isn’t the first time JJ has made this claim about MK and cocaine. Unlike Ashley, who has sued tabloids for libel when claims of drug use were published, MK never contested JJ’s claim. I wonder if she will now that he’s using it years later to continue his quest for fame.

Why do you think MK never contested it? Is there truth in what JJ saw? Or does MK just care less than Ashley about cultivating a reputation?

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s younger sister Elizabeth Olsen stepped out on her own last night. Lizzie attended the after party for the Broadway play “Impressionism”, which had its opening night at the Schoenfeld Theatre in New York City yesterday.

It looks like Lizzie gets some style inspiration from her sisters. Lizzie is studying theatre at New York University’s Tisch School.

I’m hoping we see her launching her own career soon. It will be neat to see what she does to step out from her sisters’ shadows and make a name for herself in the New York acting community.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen had a business lunch together with some colleagues at the Soho House hotel in the Meat Packing District in NYC yesterday afternoon. The girls both arrived and left separately.

MK looked stylish in a military-inspired black coat, which I love, and motorcycle boots. She paired it with a great bag and her round sunglasses.

Earlier that day, MK was spotted out with their younger sister, Lizzie. Lizzie is gorgeous, I love her jacket. She’s studying at New York University and it’s rumored her major is theatre.

Ashley also chose black as her color of choice today, opting for a longer jacket and pairing is with a super casual jeans and sweater. Ashley usually looks more polished than Mary-Kate, but her hair is in a messy updo here!
